Frequently Asked
Questions |
|
| |
How do I refill my XL
cartridge and/or fill my XL Plus cartridge?
The best way to refill the cartridge is to submerse it in a bowl
of distilled water for 4 minutes. When time's up, take it out
and let it stand on the counter another minute. Then turn it
over the sink and let any loose water drain out. Dry off the top
of it and put it back together. There must be NO LOOSE visible
water in the holes. |

What is the difference
between the XL and the XL Plus?
The difference is the size humidor you will be humidifying. The
Cigar Oasis XL is made for desk top humidors up to 4 cu. ft. The
Cigar Oasis XL Plus is made for larger capacity boxes over 4 cu.
up to 8 or 10 cu. ft. Although physically the two models look
the same from the outside, the XL Plus has two additional air
ports in the rear of the unit and an additional hole in the
cartridge. They allow the Plus unit to draw in more air and push
out a large amount of moisture for larger spaces. |

What does the code C16 mean?
C16 is the program number of the chip inside the control top.
C16 will always show when ever the unit is first hooked up, or
disconnected & reconnected, or if there is a power interruption.
Ordinarily, C16 will disappear after approximately 30 seconds.
If you are using the unit on batteries are are experiencing C16
staying lit and not going off, that means the batteries are low.
You many not have caught the LO indication to tell you to change
the batteries. They are weak and the unit failed. Since the
batteries were not totally dead, the unit tried to come back on,
however didn't have enough strength. Replace the batteries and
when you reconnect you will again see C16 appear, however this
time it should go out after 30 seconds or less. |

How does the Cigar Oasis technology work?
An accurate sensor measures the humidity and when it is less
than your desired humidity it starts a fan that draws air from
inside the humidor, runs it through the water cartridge, which
humidifies the air and pushes it back into the humidor. When the
humidity in the humidor reaches the desired level the fan stops. |

|
|
| |
Why is Cigar Oasis technology different than the sponges, bricks
and other passive devices?
Cigar Oasis is unique because it is an active, accurate,
reliable unit and operates unattended. Whereas the passive
devices require frequent attention, can't humidify in dry
atmospheres, use chemicals and need replacement. Passive is
passé - Active is in. |
